1in1t

The one in a trillion game. Rarer than 1 in 8 billion.

What would you be reborn as?

Earth has roughly 1.8 sextillion animals. Get reborn as one of them, weighted by real head counts, and live its whole life in a few minutes.

Who can you be?

How it works

  1. 1We add up every animal we have a count for: about 1.8 × 10²¹, mostly copepods and nematodes.
  2. 2You are drawn by those real numbers. Pick “Mammals & birds” or “Human” to narrow the draw.
  3. 3You live that animal’s life cycle, with choices that change your odds, in a few minutes.
  4. 4At the end you get a card to save or share, and a link a friend can use to compare.

Questions

What are my odds of being reborn as a human?

About 1 in 210 billion if any animal can be drawn. There are roughly 8.2 billion people, but around 1.3 sextillion copepods, 440 quintillion soil nematodes and 10 quintillion insects. Among mammals and birds only, the odds improve to about 1 in 21.

What is the most common animal on Earth?

By head count, tiny crustaceans called copepods (about 1.3 × 10²¹, an order-of-magnitude estimate), then soil nematodes (about 4.4 × 10²⁰, van den Hoogen et al. 2019). That is why the true-odds draw almost always makes you something small.

Where do the numbers come from?

Peer-reviewed counts where they exist (birds, ants, nematodes, wild mammals), FAO statistics for farm animals, IUCN for rare species, and UN World Population Prospects 2024 for people. A few groups, such as fish and copepods, are only known to an order of magnitude; the odds page marks them.

Is this the 1 in 8 billion game?

No. 1in1t is an independent simulator inspired by the idea of being born by real statistics. It is not affiliated with 1in8b.life. Instead of only people, you can be reborn as any animal, and a life takes a few minutes.

How does the human life work?

If you are drawn as a human, your country comes from real births per country (UN WPP 2024), and your schooling, internet access, city life and lifespan follow that country’s statistics (Gapminder, World Bank, UN IGME).

Can I compare with friends?

Yes. Finish a life, tap “Compare with a friend” and send the link. When your friend finishes, both cards show side by side and the rarer life wins.

Is it free? Do you keep my data?

It is free with no sign-up. Your lives and collection stay in your browser. We use privacy-friendly analytics only after consent where the law requires it.
